Logo Design
Having just moved to Carlsbad, California and joined the Try J Team, I jumped at the opportunity to brand the new car rental business our founder had just acquired. This project was a great opportunity to get to know the area and try to capture as much of the local flair as I could in the new mark.
I chose to design a seal and a more standard logo mark to pay homage to the local aesthetic while also offering a reliable icon that would work well for small print applications. By combining the type-style and shapes from the iconic Carlsbad downtown sign and adding the surfboard and coastal details on both logo applications, I’ve achieved a design that feels like it could have been here a long time.
