Red Barn Arts & Crafts Festival

The Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival in downtown Kirksville Missouri is a time tested family tradition that has grown into a significant cultural event reaching patrons far beyond the local community.

This festival of the arts began in 1974 as a way to raise money for after school programs and artistic opportunities for children in the Kirksville community. In the last 40 years this tradition has grown to well over 100 vendors and continues to promote the arts, family, values, and provide funding for the local arts.

My goal for the design of this campaign was to focus on the fact that the Red Barn Arts & Crafts Festival is already an established name and event for the community of Kirksville.

Creating three distinct icons gave me the ability to easily divide the relevant information for vendors, community members, or first time guests. In developing the website my goal was to make it easy for each of these groups to access the information most relevant to them.  This project was done as a speculative assignment for the Kirksville Arts Association.
